One of the aims of the Citizens Advice service is to "exercise a
responsible influence on the development of social policies and
services, both locally and nationally." This means that we talk to
Government, local councils and other policy makers to help them
improve the laws and services that affect ordinary people.
At Peterborough CAB we support this aim in a number of ways -
campaigning about fee charging ATMs, gym membership fees, cost of
school uniforms, rent deposit schemes, post office closures and the
collection of Status Barred debts.
